Dennis & Betty Martin
We came to the farm early in 1975 with our five children, to a bare block of 80 acres. We lived in a small shed and a tent for the first year or so. Our older children were studying on correspondence school for the first few years.
We grew papaws and bananas and other small crops for a time, while we were establishing our mangoes, avocados and other permanent fruits.
Obviously we had to work away from the farm at times to finance our building program as well as purchase the block next door about 20 years later
We have always had a concern for the environment and have done our best to enhance the natural ecology and have ensured that our buildings are designed to fit in with nature.
We have always tried to cater for the public, by making our piece of paradise available for bush walking and mountain climbing as well as the opportunity to create some "masterpiece" out of the fine timber that grows in the area.
In the last ten years or so we have added horse riding to the list of things to do while in this part of the country, adding a Welsh Mountain Pony stud in the last five years.
ESCAPE TO THE COUTRYSIDE AND HAVE FUN WITH THE FAMILY
" We were truly amazed at the beauty Harmony Farm had to offer, and the warm hospitality which we recieved from Dennis.
Hes a true ambassador for the environment, and the whole family had awesome fun!"
